•Master the Controls
Left-click acts on the tile/object in front; right-click uses or places the held item. Hold the button to repeat an action (watering, hoeing). Esc opens the menu, M the map, J the journal, and the number keys or mouse wheel switch toolbar slots. Hold the run key to move faster (uses a little stamina).
•Use the TV Every Morning
The TV gives the weather forecast (plan watering and fishing), the fortune teller (luck affects mine ladders, geodes, and treasure), and 'Queen of Sauce' cooking shows that teach recipes. Check it before heading out.
•Save by Sleeping
Sleeping in your bed ends the day and auto-saves. Passing out at 2:00 am (still outside) costs gold and leaves you drained the next day. You can also save from the menu, but sleeping is the normal day loop.

What's the difference between passing out and sleeping?
Passing out at 2:00 am forces you to lose 1,000g (or 10% of gold) and start the next day with low energy. Sleeping in bed saves normally with no penalty.
What does the TV actually do?

How do I save the game?
Sleeping in bed auto-saves and ends the day. There is also a manual save option in the menu, but sleeping is the main loop.
